Wheelchair Assessment & Training
As a carer, either in a voluntary or paid position, dealing with wheelchairs is often a task that causes concern. We train you to be able to assess the type of wheelchair you are dealing with and thereby reduce the risk of manual handling injuries.
By being able to determine the expected weight and properties of a wheelchair, you are much less likely to injure yourself or discriminate against a person in a wheelchair based on assumptions that any wheelchair user will be too heavy to handle.
